QA1, a recognized leader in high-performance suspension components for motorsports and industrial markets, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Product Manager to lead the growth of Detroit Speed & Engineering’s full line of suspension system solutions. In this impactful role, you will drive the strategic direction of the product portfolio, define new product requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand our customer base. You will play an integral part in supporting training, sales, and marketing efforts, while ensuring the maintenance of product quality and positioning.
You’ll work at the intersection of automotive engineering, customer experience, and performance culture, ensuring that our products meet the high standards of racers, builders, and enthusiasts alike. This position will work daily from our Mooresville, North Carolina location.
What You Will Do:
Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for assigned product lines, aligning with QA1's strategic goals.
Gather insights from customers, dealers, builders, and the racing community to shape product strategy.
Analyze performance trends and competitive products to identify growth opportunities.
Translate market needs into detailed product requirements and specifications.
Utilize the Phase Gate product development process to deliver and launch projects.
Lead cross-functional team meetings to ensure alignment and timely execution.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing to bring high-performance parts to market.
Establish product pricing strategies based on market research and cost analysis.
Support go-to-market efforts including product messaging, documentation, and training.
Monitor and report on product sales performance, driving iterative improvements.
Maintain expert-level knowledge of product features and market trends.
Represent the product at company events, trade shows, and customer visits
Other duties as beneficial to the success of QA1.
The Critical Skills and Experience You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, business, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years in product management or a technical product-related role.
Passion for motorsports, muscle cars, hot rods, or pro-touring builds.
Knowledge of suspension, chassis systems, and vehicle dynamics.
Comfortable working with engineering teams and interpreting technical drawings/specifications.
Blend of business acumen, strategic insight, and technical knowledge.
Expertise in planning, organizing, and managing multiple projects.
Understanding of BOM management and supply chain coordination.
Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams and stakeholders.
Technical understanding of product development and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, TS16949).
Proven leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Promotes positive team spirit; well-composed under pressure.
Open communicator with excellent oral, written, and listening skills.
Demonstrable strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office products and capable of quickly training and becoming proficient with ERP system (Syteline)
